Maybe it’s not the best movie as far as dialogue goes, but for being an action movie about robots from outer place, it’s trustworthy. The transformations are edifying enough to not raise doubt about the mechanics of them (which is kindly for me as an aerospace engineer, because I tend to survey these things) . This is the kind of movie that makes immense HD televisions and high-quality sound systems worth having.

For a nerd that venerable to drool over this reveal as a kid, this movie hooks you from the very beginning. From Optimus Prime’s summary intro (with Peter Cullen unexcited at the helm of our current alien semi) to the Decipticon attack on the military sinister, you have no doubts that this is Transformers. Shia LaBeouf makes his entrance and proves the perfect share for this movie. He’s actually gorgeous comical and acts the share well. As far as the rest of the humans in this cast, not as noteworthy can be said.

After the awesome introduction, the first allotment of the movie deals mainly with Shia LaBeouf’s Sam purchasing a Camaro that actually turns out to be the Autobot Bumblebee (in the cartoon, originally a VW Bug. I deem the yellow VW Bug in the car lot next to Bumblebee was a homage.) Sam unknowingly uses his alien car to stamp a girl. Of course she actually is impressed when they acquire out it’s an alien. There are some fair laughable scenes in this fraction of the movie as well as some action scenes that are very well done.

Soon comes the arrival of the other Autobots and they content to Sam their good purpose, which is to locate the Allspark -a great plan helpful of transforming a planet- before the Decepticons collect a own of it. I opinion at this point that the expressionless parts of the movie were over, but not quite. From here we go into a few too many scenes dealing with side characters, from video game playing computer experts to goofy secret agents whose quirks border slapstick comedy. Too many of these characters could be chalked up as droll relief, and most of what they attributed was not very comic. There was a slightly droll but overly long scene where Sam was trying to conceal the autobots while he searched through his house for a relic they needed. And then arrived John Turtorro (playing the said goofy secret agent) whom I fancy, but who severely overstayed him welcome in this. Other performances, namely John Voight’s, were unprejudiced tiresome campy and the cookie cutter dialogue was cringe inducing at times.

Luckily, I forgot most of that by the time the movie got to its last act. Once the Decepticons near in force the movie is a non cessation accelerate of action and jaw dropping effects. While someone who’s not familiar with the characters and legend might not care what the outcome is, I found myself with memories as a kid, watching the 1986 movie for the first time. I forgot about the humans and their ho-hum sotrylines as my celebrated characters and toys from my childhood crashed and shot and ripped each other apart. I forgot that I was watching CG effects as the transformers notice as loyal as the environment they’re destroying. The action scenes are larger than life and I’m amazed at how well the battles of the cartoons translated onto gigantic camouflage. The transformers themselves were all very well done, applying dependable physics to their transformations and robot appearances. They inspect loyal and current but don’t lose the heart of what the fanboys loved about them from relieve in the day. And Hugo Weaving as Megatron was genius. I missed hearing the recent Starcream, but the modern deny actor died many years ago, and the two or three lines Starcream had in this sounded obedient.

Despite the vast flaws in acting, dialogue and script, I left this movie with that rare itch to want to go straight encourage inside and study it again. From the previews, it looked like the movie was going to seize a realistic perspective and reveal the warring alien machines from a human point of idea. But that’s really not the case at all. In every other Michael Bay movie, the corny dialogue and overdramatic characters waste an otherwise generous premise. But Transformers is based on a cartoon, so why shouldn’t the movie feel like one? Here it works. It’s tremendous, wearisome nostalgic fun that the kid in me has been after for 20 years.

This is a clever fear flick and, for me, is remarkable better than “The Faculty,” which it is being compared to here in the other posts. I saw this at a film festival in its modern language with subtitles and loved it. Reading the complaints here about the English dubbing reinforces that to truly indulge in this film, notice it in Danish with the subs on.

Part of the Ghost House Underground series of anxiety movies, THE SUBSTITUTE isn’t a apprehension movie at all. Instead it’s a suspense-filled comedy filmed in Denmark. The movie revolves around a 6th grade boy named Carl (Jonas Wandschneider) . Carl was recently keen in a car accident in which he was injured and his mother was killed. Carl and his father, Jesper (Ulrich Thomsen) seem to be getting by, but inside each struggles with the death of their matriarch. At school, Carl’s teacher takes a suspended leave of absence and the class is presented with their substitute teacher for the rest of the term, Ms. Ulla (Paprika Steen) . Ms. Ulla is a strict disciplinarian who knows which buttons to push to preserve students quite and procure them upset. She seems salubrious of reading the students’ minds and after a series of bizarre events, Carl and his classmates suspect Ulla isn’t who she claims to be and soon inspect that she’s really an alien curved on world domination. Ulla wants to seize the students on a field traipse to Paris for what she claims is an opportunity to compete in a prestigious academic competition. THE SUBSTITUTE was directed and co-written by the Ole Bornedal, director of the fantastic Russian vampire movie, NIGHTWATCH. Bornedal has a fresh talent of making surreal films that aren’t fair spicy, but are based in reality, have a proper foundation, and divulge social commentary. NIGHTWATCH is an valid example of this and, though not as strong a movie, THE SUBSTITUTE is as well. THE SUBSTITUE captivated my attention from the opening scene when a vortex through set opens and a silver sphere crashes to Earth, smashing into a chicken. That scene is hilarious and that sad humor is venerable throughout the movie. There isn’t anything really horrific about the film and the overall mood of the film feels like a teenage mystery account.

My only complaint about the DVD is that the copy I had the film was only available in dubbed English. About 3/4th of the movie the dubbing was okay, not grand, but superior enough to obtain by. However, there are moments in the film where the dubbing is disagreeable. For instance, I assume Carl’s sister and the colorful girl in his class were dubbed by the same annoying female state. If you can regain a copy of the movie with the unique Danish being spoken with subtitles in English, that’s the map to spy it.

Overall, THE SUBSTITUE is an luscious suspense-comedy with some titanic visuals (especially considering the gross budget of the movie) .

This is a Disney film based on Sheila Burford’s book __The Fabulous Journey__, about three household pets (specifically a bulldog named Chance, a Himalayan cat named Sassy, and a golden retriever named Shadow) who race away from a faraway ranch in order to pick up their blueprint wait on to their home in San Francisco. Meanwhile, the owners (specifically 3 kids: a small brother named Jamie, a titanic brother named Peter, and a sister in the middle named Hope) call a search-and-rescue while at the same time trying to cope with a stepfather. As you may quiz, this film eventually comes to a joyful ending where everyone is reunited and all is well.

Now, I’m 15 years musty and I have loved this film ever since I saw it in the theater at the age of 6. I had many reasons why I loved it at the time–I opinion it was amusing, I belief it was spirited, and the ending made me shout (hey, don’t snicker, I was six years venerable attend then) . But now I have a reason why this film has stood the test of time against worthy flashier and less “cute” movies that I examine nowadays, and that’s simply because…well, because it’s really a kindly movie!

Don’t understand? Well, this film is so remarkable more than honest a movie with talking (sort of) animals that go on a perambulate in order to entertain cramped 6-year-olds. The pets aren’t unbiased animals; they exude the human personalities of their owners! Chance, owned by Jamie, is a mischievious pup who’s always sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. Shadow, owned by Peter, is a wise faded golden retriever who’s always trying to sustain Chance out of exertion. And Sassy, owned by Hope, is a fickle cat who always acts like she’s sick of being stuck with her “brothers”, if you know what I mean.

And then there’s the fact that even though the pets open out acting like siblings who drive each other crazy, they wind up going through thick and thin and actually realizing that they really like each other. Also, this film also has a subplot that turns out overjoyed too; Peter, Hope, and Jamie finally learn to esteem their stepfather and actually call him “Dad”. When the pets are benefit home in the raze (face it, you KNEW it was going to happen) and they examine the gay faces of their blissful owners, and EVERYONE is actually LOVING each other like a Proper family, Chance thinks with pride, “For the first time in my life, I was HOME.” Never before have I heard such a profound statement in a Disney movie.

Any idiot can entertain a 6-year-old by making him laugh, yell, and be exasperated. However, it takes the work of a genius to entertain a 6-year-old with a work that he will even treasure nine years later. Gawk this film NOW!

P.S. Don’t discover the sequel–it’s completely insipid, and the pets have totally lost their human personalities in it.

Homeward Paddle is the monstrous remake of the Unbelievable Budge, a sage of pet’s going to extremes to pick up their family. Michael J. Fox lends his articulate talents as Chance, the most novel pet addition to the family. Chance is also the narrator of the film, which adds to the overall great nature. The movie is comical and an overall fun family film. However, the movie is about the struggle to have pet-owner savor, so the movie is not all laughs and giggles. Good-natured yet emotionally endearing this movie will be liked by all.

“Patton” offers one of the tremendous marriages of actor and role with George C. Scott’s riveting portrayal of the illustrious American tank commander. As a film biography “Patton” forgoes the rise of the distinguished general and merely hints at his ironic death because of injuries suffered in a traffic accident, focuses entirely on his military career commanding troops in North Africa, Sicily and France during World War II. The strength of the script by Francis Ford Coppola and Edmund H. North, as well as of Scott’s performance, is that the paradoxes of Patton are completely embraced. Not even Patton’s proper cadre of staff officers can maintain him from shooting off his mouth every time there are reporters around, but then neither German Field Marshall Rommel or English Field Marshall Montgomery can beat him on the battlefield. Karl Malden’s performance as General Omar Bradley is fair as solid as Scott’s, presenting a man whose personality is the complete antithesis of Patton. Viewers earn themselves identifying with the German captain who is the intelligence expert on Patton and arguably the only person in the film who really understands or respects the American general. But the more I explore “Patton,” the more I am very impressed with the battle sequences of director Franklin J. Schaffner (”Planet of the Apes,” “Pappillon”), which were staged live and full-scale without special effects of miniatures. Schaffner provides not unprejudiced the tremendous spectacle of a desert tank battle, but smaller and equally memorable moments, such as a soldier falling unimaginative in the snow. “Patton” deserved its Oscars.

In terms of extra features on this DVD, the second disc features the 1997 50-minute retrospective documentary, “The Making of Patton: A Tribute to Franklin J. Schaffner.” Fresh interviews with the cinematographer, composer, etc., are blended with audio interviews of Schaffner and Scott from 1970, newsreel footage of Patton, along with clips and publicity stills from the film compose a fitting tribute to the slack director. The audio commentary on the first disc is really more of a lecture on Patton by Charles M. Province, the author of the book “The Unknown Patton” and founder/president of the General George S. Patton, Jr. Historical Society. Province more than adequately fills in what the movie leaves out about Patton’s life. On the second disc Jerry Goldsmith’s Oscar nominated musical derive is presented in stereo, including alternate takes and a series of radio spots. You certainly have to luxuriate in what Fox has keep together here: This is a “Special Edition” DVD priced as a regular DVD, a sincere treat for those of us who remember being mesmerized by George C. Scott giving that profanity laced opening speech standing in front of that giant American flag.

The Fox “Cinema Classic Collection” edition of PATTON offers a far generous characterize transfer than the previous THX edition. The current image looks to be from sincere 65mm elements and is far less grainy than the faded transfer, which looks to have been from 35mm dupes. However, sometimes colors are a cramped unstable in modern image, with often pinkish hues and reddish flesh tones, but most of the time the record looks stunning. The soundtrack seems the same as the former edition, which was objective glorious. All of the extras from the previous edition have been retained, and the original commentary by screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola is racy.

I am not doing this review based on the Disney release, but on the fresh Japanese release. This charming tiny tale is a product of Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli, but it is directed by Miyazaki’s associate, Hiroyuki Morita. It is actually a sequel to the worthy and equally charming Mutter of the Heart, another blooming though very low-key Ghibli product. The odd thing is that Snort of the Heart has never been released in the U.S.; releasing the sequel before the unique is a bit unfamiliar.

That being said, a wealth of details about the films (and everything from Studio Ghibli) can be found on the tremendously informative nausicaa.rep Web station. Since this film is being released with Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind and Porco Rosso on February 22, it can only be hoped that it will run somewhat on the coattails of the two better-known Miyazaki works and will have decent sales. It’s an respectable family film and is a refreshing change (like all of Ghibli’s works) from giant robots, ninjas, vampires, brainless lowbrow comedy mixed with mindless violence, and the other junk that pervades plot too mighty of contemporary anime releases.

Let me open off this review by saying the movie itself is a five star treat. I rented, after being on a Miyazaki and Ghibli fling, wanting to witness all this Japanese studio had to offer. This one blew me away. It made me renew my esteem for cats, and I know this is one that my best friend, a feline fanatic himself, will probably be proudly displaying next to his What’s Michael? japanese comics. Something the collective asian conscience gives them an affinity for cats, and it helps this movie shine. Anyone who has kids or cat lovers will luxuriate in this myth, but some may be a tiny lost. There was a movie before this one called Recount of The Heart, not translated into english, but it isn’t the same storyline, honest the same characters, so you wont be missing any info, honest dealing with a mountainous area. Its worth investing in though.

School girl Haru has problems. She can’t seem to fetch up on time, get it school, or maintain it together in class. She has a crush on the coolest kid in class, but he unbiased got a girlfriend. Her self treasure is design down. On her plan home from school, her and her friend contemplate a cat with a gold chain carrying a package. They scrutinize it scrutinize both ways, and inferior the street. It’s carrying a limited package in its mouth, and trips in the street, dropping the limited package. They gasp, and Haru rushes into the street. As a truck is about to squish the miniature cat, she scoops him up with her lacrosse stick (carried home from school) and sweeps him into a bush. Upon landing in the bush alongside, she breaks her stick. The cat gets up, and then stands on it’s hindlegs. After brushing himself off, he bows and says ‘Thank you for saving my life. I will repay you.’ and skitters off. Haru thinks she’s crazy. When she tells her mom she replies that she has said the same thing before, that she could talk to cats when she was small. She shrugs it off, and heads to bed. In the night, however, the King of Cats and a procession of cats (including the most hilarious unlit cats, who have a suit-and-tie pattern in their fur, and are the kings secret service) and sprint up to her door. She has snuck down to spy the commotion, and the steward for the king speaks. He tells her that the cat she saved was Prince of the Cat Kingdom, and they would repay her starting the next day, handing her a list of the gifts. She sleeps and wakes, thinking it’s a dream. But, the scroll remains, and the things commence happening from the scroll (a hilarious scene where her friend is at school, knee deep in lacrosse sticks had me laughing for about five minutes) . Soon, she is overwhelmed by it all, and the last gift is revealed. She must marry the prince, and go to the cat kingdom to live in their palace! Distraught, she is told by a mysterious assert to gain a ample white cat, and he will lead her to the Cat Bureau. Once found, gargantuan cat Muta leads her to a limited town, with a small cat. This is the cat pictured on the box. He introduces himself as Baron von Gikkingen, but The Baron works graceful.(because his creator gave him a ridiculous name) . A crow statue named Toto comes to life and Haru finds out that Baron and Toto were both given souls because their creators loved them so mighty, and started the Buearu with refugee Muta. With that, The Baron agrees to aid Haru and visit the Cat Kingdom to talk sense into them. Objective in time, because the cat vanguard arrives to hold her away. The Bureau pursues, and Muta and Haru are whisked away, with The Baron and Toto in hot pursuit.

Whew.

Anyway, this movie is by director Hiroyuki Morita, his first head directing credit. Most other Ghibli movies had been done by Miyazaki or Takahata, with the major exceotion of ‘Whisper of the Heart’, a detailed characterize about a young writer who meets the Baron and he inspires her. Miyazaki wrote it and boarded it, then passed it to Yoshifumi Kondo, who died tragically after the release. So, Miyazaki passed this project (the ’sequel’) to Morita. Many on the review boards don’t like his style. I judge it’s mammoth, a soft and more original advance for the sage of a soft and recent girl thrown into a fantasy world. It’s calm graceful and has ample art direction throughout. The cats are well done, making me marvel at how they captured so many nuances. In unbiased an hour and almost a half, Morita tells his five hundred page storyboard, with 900 lines of dialouge. And it never gets dumb, kids wont be dulled by the dialouge and they’ll learn a lesson (it’s not unprejudiced about believing in yourself, it’s about loving who you are)

The quality of the video is sizable, not the best of the disney transfers, but its soft lensed eye adds instead of subtracts from the memoir, and the audio is wonderful. The salvage is special, as it contains a complete orchestra, something that Ghibli hadn’t done before. The theme song is also fresh, as its theme was done by an artist Ayano Tsuji, with unprejudiced her unbelievable vocals and a Ukelaili. All of the info on the audio and art can be seen on the Making of featurette.

Speaking of:

There is a Late The Microphone featurette, covering the announce cast of the american dubbing. This features stars such as Cary Elwes as the Baron (from Princess Bride), Anne Hathaway as Haru (from the Princess Diaries), Peter Boyle as Muta (the dad from everybody loves raymond), Tim Curry as the King of Cats (from lots of movies) and Andy Richter as Natoru, secretary to the king (from… no one remembers his expose) . Next is an in depth Making Of featurette, that covers the unusual, the process of making the movie, scoring it and promoting it. Last, the second disc, which features a Complete Storyboard. It’s fair the audio from the movie region to these storyboards. It’s a treat for art students and superfans, casual observers and families will pass this disc by.

Overall, a wonderful movie, with a tremendous and deep status, proving that Ghibli has a intelligent future even after Takahata and Miyazaki aren’t directing their features. Compassionate, creative and frigid, Cat lovers and families need this movie!

I impartial saw this a few hours ago, and I must say that it was spectacular. Pokemon Heroes: Latias and Latios begins with a couple of stunning master thieves stealing a book from some sort of library, and in James Bond fashion, they leap through the window, swing down a grappling hook’s rope, jump in their sweet-looking car, and hit the road at high speeds. But the wintry fragment came when they drove off the side of a mammoth cliff and as they plummeted downwards, their car transforms(very detailed, but expeditiously) into a flying machine as they zoom off into the night sky. The movie has tons of these sort of slick action scenes, which is what moves the movie forward. The myth is okay, for a Pokemon movie, and isn’t too predictable. Ash and Co. approach at a aesthetic city called AltoMare(which resembles Venice, complete with water canals and gondolas) . After participating in a water speed, Ash runs into a odd girl, and the thieves who want to kidnap her for some reason, which leads to what is the first of many hotfoot scenes in the movie.

The animation is far more advanced than the previous movies, with LOTS of computer generated imagery, and some SFX shots that are Matrix-esque. This movie is a very nice fraction of eye-candy indeed(There’s a scene where a flood starts to brew from afar, which sent a chill up my benefit) . The broken-down hand-drawn animation is obliging too, though there are many times where the characters seem to be drawn with unlit outlines that are a cramped too immense. Thankfully Miramax left in the modern orchestrated music, which is ravishing, mixing worn anime orchestral pieces with Italian music. Heck, they even left in a JAPANESE song during a clear fraction of the movie! The movie begins with the same ‘World of Pokemon’ segment seen in many other places, and again they skip the mini-movie which will probably be on the DVD. Anyways, the grunt acting is okay, and they didn’t really change noteworthy of the movie in this English version. The opening and ending sequences has some american songs though, but they’re okay. The only gripe I had was with Latias and Latios’ voices; they’re kinda annoying, and not what I expected.

Either blueprint, if you’re a Pokemon fan, you should definitely win a theater that’s playing this film and scrutinize this movie. The semi-large audience at the screening actually clapped at the film’s finale, and they even stayed for the extinguish credits!(Which has a cameo appearance of a sure Pokemon collector from the second Pokemon film) It’s one of the best, and possibly the most satisfying Pokemon movie made. Besides, the movie’s ending is really cute.

I was sparkling furious for the 5th installment of the Pokemon films when it hit theaters in the US and boy was the wait worth it! This movie is awesome, the animation is detailed and heavenly, once again they employ a lot of computer animation but it’s blended noteworthy better than in Pokemon 4ever (the 4th film) . The recent characters are fun and the movie introduces you to a whole current side of Ash, because he gets a crush! How cute, huh? The narrative line is large, a tiny dim at the demolish, but what’s a movie without strong emotions? I definatley reflect this movie deserves more than 5 out of 5 stars, more like 10 out of 5. It’s my all time current and I am SO psyched for it to advance out on DVD. So, if you’re a diehard Pokemon fan and acquire all the other movies, Rob THIS ONE, and if you’re a Pokemon fan all the same but don’t maintain any of the movies, this is the one to acquire!

Like any edifying sports movie, the subtitled “Rudo y Cursi” is not at all about sports. The competition exists on a distinguished more fundamental level: One brother is pitted against the other in a battle over who the better person is. Even more fundamental is the battle each brother wages with himself between his talent and his passion, neither of which seem to go hand in hand. The strength of this film is that it relies on these simple, understandable ideas to accept its point across. It also relies on clearly defined characters that behave realistically. The brothers, for example, seem not like archetypal clones but rather like accurate human beings, shifting relieve and forth between loving and hating each other. While none of this makes for groundbreaking cinema, it does allow for an delicious film that’s sometimes fun, sometimes dramatic, and always charming.

The film, written and directed by Carlos Cuarón (Alfonso’s brother), is about Tato (Gael García Bernal) and Beto (Diego Luna), brothers from a rural Mexican village where life revolves around a banana plantation. From this, we glean a noteworthy better conception of who the brothers are: Tato clearly has talent on the field, but his precise dream is to be a famed singer; Beto’s dream is to be a goalie, although he seems better gracious for a career in gambling. Both seem certain to attend their mother, who’s married to a unusual husband neither one of them have any patience for.

It’s the keen and ignorant Tato who Batuta chooses first, and within no time, he’s taken to Mexico City and given the nickname “Cursi” (which translates as “gross”) . The quick-tempered Beto eventually joins his brother, leaving leisurely a wife, a few children, and a loyal job. He earns the nickname “Rudo” (which translates as “outrageous”) .

As they both go through the ups and downs of playing on a professional soccer team–and this definitely includes the many hazing rituals in the locker room showers–they win in other activities. Tato begins dating a pleasing TV personality and produces a music video for the Spanish version of “I Want You to Appreciate Me.” Beto gets sidetracked by fame and fortune, resulting in perilous games of high stakes poker and a line or two of cocaine. It also results in a remarkable amount of debt … the kind that comes with death threats from shady people. This isn’t first-rate, especially since his wife has made the streak to Mexico City hoping to gain it astronomical pitching health supplements.

All this inevitably leads to a climactic soccer match, made more spirited by the fact that Tato and Beto win themselves on opposite teams. Were this all “Rudo y Cursi” were concerned with, it would be a very mundane film. As it is, it’s an though-provoking epic of two conflicting personalities, both so convincing that they effectively overshadow the faded area. One of my popular scenes takes area on the beach, where the brothers are spending time with their visiting mother. As they sit in the sand, each son tries to one-up the other by promising to invent a broad house apt along the shore. It’s a perfect example of evoking a rivalry, and I say “evoking” because one gets the sense that it’s been building within them ever since they were children.

This very intentionally functions as a counterpart to Batuta’s narration, which seems made up almost entirely of proverbs and facts. He begins the film, for instance, by giving us a brief history of soccer: Long, long ago, the Ragged Aztecs invented a game in which they kicked around the severed head of their enemies. We know legal then and there that “Rudo y Cursi” will be a fable of competition and sacrifice with unprejudiced a shrimp bit of game-playing thrown in for generous measure. To extend the metaphor, the legend that we’re about to gape will be unprejudiced like a soccer match, with opposing forces working towards their beget space of goals.

By the kill of the film, there’s the implication that every gets exactly what they wanted out of life, albeit in unconventional ways. To interpret would give too remarkable away, but rest assured that the myth resolves itself appropriately, if not unexpectedly. What “Rudo y Cursi” lacks in originality is more than made up for in depth of character and simplicity of theme; we look this film aware yet forgiving of its conventions, and that’s because we’re being told a relatable memoir with protagonists who seem right. This would have been very difficult to carry out were it not for the natural onscreen chemistry between Bernal and Luna. They unprejudiced seem like a natural fit together. More to the point, they seemed like exact brothers–perpetually caught in that gray zone between appreciate and disapprove, driven by the need to upstage each other, united in their desire to please their mother. This, I feel, is so remarkable more compelling than a simple game of soccer.

I saw “Rudo y Cursi” this year at the Sarasota Film Festival and was pleasantly surprised by how great I liked the movie. The main reason I went to survey “Rudo y Cursi” was because it starred Gael Garcia Bernal, whose films I generally savor. I felt a slight unsure about the film going into it, because I didn’t know powerful going into the film and felt this would be a typical sports movie, but I really enjoyed seeing this. The film is truly a epic of two brothers more than anything, and, though it does revolve around their passion for sports, it didn’t feel like your regular sports film. It does have some of your stereotypical sports film moments, but in the extinguish it was a very new movie experience. Anyone who enjoys Gael Garcia Bernal films, will definitely appreciate this movie. He is equally serious and comic in the film and serves as a tremendous counterpart to Diego Luna who plays his brother. I feel that this film can be enjoyed by a wide array of viewers and would suggest this film to anyone, as it is an all around ample movie.

This time around Al has been kidnapped and taken to the nappers secret state but of course Al is nowhere arrive scare. Seriously you’ll be proud of the microscopic I’m sorry I mean large guys tolerance for hateful kidnappers. Ed is going crazy trying to rep his brother and has puny patience for anything but the search. Major Armstrong is at war with Greed’s men deep in the slimy sewers trying to assign Al, while up above Ed escapes the military for a showdown with Greed. Greed to me is a tall villain to give Ed such a hard time in battle but from this he gave Ed something more principal than anything in his slouch as he is shown the arrangement to defeat the homunculus. Trust me Greed fights to the last descend of sweat, blood, and almost impenetrable armor. This is one of the most improbable battles ever in the Fullmetal Alchemist series. Who will score this deadly fight to the death? Vol.9 contains episodes 33-36, 33/Al, Captured 34/ Theory of Avarice, 35/Reunion of the Fallen, 36/The Sinner Within.

As the ninth respectable volume of Fullmetal Alchemist opens Edward is defeated by the loner Homunculus Greed to distract him from his accurate goal: keeping him out of the blueprint while Greed’s henchmen, superpowered chimera, kidnap Al. Greed wants to know how Al was binded to the suit of armor because he believes it holds the key to immortality. It’s up to Ed to collect and rescue his brother, but he might secure some befriend from his archaic teacher (she’s not “feeble”), Izumi, if her body can stand using alchemy. The military is also deadset on capturing Greed, and they’re willing to destroy anyone who gets in their scheme, be they guilty or innocent, and also our two accepted Dwelling Alchemists! The third episode is a departure because it features Lust as the main character and shows a itsy-bitsy about her past, or at least that she once had a heart, as she meets up with a human who is in treasure with her! In Episode 36, Ed, Al, and Winry continue their spin to Ishbal. The two brothers have heard the rumor that the Ishbalans had made their absorb version of a Philosopher’s Stone, but they’re also going to get Scar, and look what he knows about the subject.

Volume 9 is probably one of the best installments in this series, and also among all anime dvds. It is brillantly written and sharp. What really makes compelling drama of any kind is for the characters to have shadings of well-behaved and tainted, if such opposites really exist. The fact that Greed is a Homunculus doesn’t remove away from the fact that he is a likeable guy, and he isn’t like Envy or Gluttony. He doesn’t extinguish people indiscriminately and seems precise to his henchmen and you regret that he’s so arrogant that he forces a battle with Ed. All the characters here are strong, or customary, honest like right people, and react to tragedies with the appropriate emotion. Some revelations towards the destroy of the disk send Winry especially on a collision course with her beget ideals and revenge, which will be especially gripping. Well-behaved dvd!

I would also recommend the manga version Fullmetal Alchemist. Animes you might also like would be Scrapped Princess, The Twelve Kingdoms, and Inuyasha.

Mugen is a cocky, rebellious, bandy-legged fighter who incorporates break-dancing techniques into his unorthodox fighting style. Mugen and Jin aren’t friends - in fact, they are contentious and want to test their skills against each other - yet they gain themselves joining forces, thanks to Fuu, an insistent and kinda quirky waitress who inveigles the two into helping her search for the Samurai Who Smells Like Sunflowers. For 26 episodes, the discordant trio undergo many adventures, some serious, some hilarious, some honest expressionless out unfamiliar. The only constants are the bickerings amongst the three, the scrounging for food, and the intrusion of unusual day sensibilities. Oh, and the rampant butt kicking as done by Mugen and Jin.

On the heels of his common Cowboy Bebop anime series, Shinichiro Watanabe decided to assign a unusual amble on the samurai anime with his irreverent, hip Samurai Shamploo. Shamploo means “lope fry” or a mix, and this is certainly what this series is about, as it fuses the feeble samurai credo and decorum with the unexpected new day incursions of hip hop attitudes, beatboxing, street tagging, and baseball. The episodes are supported by frigid Japanese hip hop music soundtracks and blazing hip hop scratches for scene segues. Watanabe also makes shapely exhaust of visual metaphors, thereby adding more depth to the shenanigans. The ripping animation and dynamically constructed fight scenes are guaranteed not to disappoint.

Kudos, too, to the speak actors, especially Steven Jay Blum (aka Daniel Andrews, who also voiced Cowboy Bebop’s Spike) as the bestial Mugen. Kirk Thornton as Jin and Kari Wahlgren as Fuu are both top-notch. The bid actor for the sometimes series narrator Policeman Sakami Manzou (”the Saw”) is also very qualified.

These episodes are definitely rated PG-13. This anime series doesn’t hesitate to throw in scenes of drug consume and graphic violence. Some episodes even own detached sexual scenes.

My well-liked episodes are “The Art of Altercation” (for the rapping samurai and his beatbox backup), the atmospheric “Cosmic Collisions” (where the trio fight the undead), the hilarious “Baseball Blues” (where the American pitcher couldn’t score the strike zone with the dog at bat, and he ends up inadvertently hitting the mutt - not to effort, no interesting dogs were afflict in the making of this anime), and the concluding 3-episode arc “Evanescent Encounter” (where Mugen and Jin are challenged to their very limits, determine their rivalry, and Fuu at last catches up to the Sunflower Samurai) .

It’s hard to consume “Samurai Champloo” too seriously. The series features a breakdancing samurai, hip-hop music, beatboxing and rapping.

But “Samurai Champloo” is a masterpiece in light comedy, action and even a compelling yarn appealing a daughter of a samurai who smells of sunflowers.

As the two samurai heroes say in episode two, there’s something funny about a samurai who smells of sunflowers. However, this series truly shows off some of the best battles ever seen in an anime, embellished with the aesthetic environment of frail Japan. There’s a wide variety of stories, from a complex episode about a dying mother, an episode about the origins of Japanese manga and even an episode about a traveling geisha.

There’s unprejudiced one catch–the series is chock pudgy of hip-hop references. Episode 8 alone is a goofy comedy tidbit about a samurai traveling the world with a beatboxing companion. Episode 16 features three samurai travelers rapping rumors they’ve heard on the road. Episode 18 gives us a closer peruse at the perilous life of taggers in primitive Japan.

Okay, maybe this isn’t the most realistic period section series ever made. However, this series has so powerful fun with blending hip-hop, Christian missionaries and samurai fighting together that one can’t resist loving this series.

It’s no surprise that this is one of the most accessible action anime series around. Director Shinichiro Watanabe, responsible for the superb series “Cowboy Bebop,” has a flair for creating some of the slickest battle sequences ever made. His storylines might be more simplistic than, say, “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.” However, this is exactly why American audiences like his anime series the most. They are simple stories of men who fight for something they care for.

There’s no better time to take the box situation of “Samurai Champloo.” The box station is $30 cheaper than the Geneon location, so anime fans have to procure this collection. Hands down, this is one of my absolute favorites.

The final episodes deal with a black time of Kurenai’s past with another genjutsu prodigy from the leaf village and the tragedy of that relationship may waste both herself and her relationship with her original genin team. The episodes were very captivating no matter what other reviewers maintain saying about the filler episodes as they continue to give you time to connect with the characters of Naruto and witness their teamwork and friendship throughout the series grow. The stammer cast did as usual a gargantuan job both the English and Japanese cast. So for any completest Naruto fans like me here’s another titanic box area for you home and for current comers I say try out the first box place and seek if this series is your cup of tea because I really mediate it will be…
